Nepalese TU/e students raise money for disaster Nepal

25 Nepalis, including 4 TU/e students, will raise money for the earthquake victims in Nepal on Sunday, May 17th.

The event is called: ‘Eat, watch and donate’ the university site Cursor reported.

The main purpose of the campaign is to build temporary homes for victims. With the impending monsoon (tropical rain) in prospect, it is important for people to have a roof over their heads.

Visitors experience the Nepalese culture through finger bites, documentaries and music. In return they donate an amount of their own choice. The event is held at The Hub for Expats in Eindhoven.

One of the initiators is Navaraj Neupane from Eindhoven. "We have contacted colleagues through mail to donate to giro 555. Furthermore, we have placed donation boxes on several spots. We work with people in Nepal we know and trust. We know exactly where the money has gone," says Neupane.

Earlier, a fundraising was held at the High Tech Campus. The foundation Bungamati sold bottled water then.
