The new approach of the Leger des Heils (Salvation Army) to activate the homeless is bearing fruit.

Activating them immediately upon arrival and offering a tailor-made route to help them as much as possible. That is the new approach of the homeless shelter in Eindhoven, and it works.

Since January, 348 people have been ‘taken off the streets’. Like Henk: a while ago he was wandering around, but now he is ‘chief of sandwiches’ at the central drop-in at the Leger des Heils on Visserstraat: “Six slices in the morning and four in the afternoon, that’s all they get” he says.
