Dozens of cameras have been installed in the parking garage near the shopping centre in the Eindhoven district of Meerhoven.
Q-Park has installed these cameras, to improve safety, a local daily newspaper reports. Thefts have recently been committed in the parkade. Among other things, wheels, headlights, and dashboards were stolen. Among those affected were people who had parked their car in the garage while they were away on holiday. Meerhoven is located near Eindhoven Airport.
Q-Park says it wants to take even more security measures. It is not clear what these are. Q-Park is assisted in this approach by the Meerhoven Neighbourhood Watch team. This team is made up of residents who patrol the area. They also keep an eye on the parking garage.
