The TU/e is opening a new lab for breakthrough research into thin-film solar cells tomorrow.
The new lab disposes of a high-resolution transmission electron microscope that allows an atom-by-atom study. The new testing facility is located at Philips Innovation Services on the High Tech Campus, because they already have the necessary knowledge and experience to operate the microscope.
The microscope cost around two million euros and has been financed by the Province of Noord-Brabant as part of Solliance, the alliance that brings together the R&D activities in thin-film solar cells of various institutions such as the TU/e, TNO and Holst Centre.
