Romanian picnic in Eindhoven

Good food, folk music, traditional sewing and summer games, Saturday 22 june, 13:00-19:00, Blaarthemseweg 90, Veldhoven at the Eindhoven Romanian community picnic.

The Romanian Community in Eindhoven and its Friends organise the 2019 edition of the “Romanian picnic”. Everyone interested in good food, folk music, traditional sewing, children theatre (in Romanian), book launch (in Romanian) and summer games is most welcome. For a glimpse into the 2018 edition: https://vimeo.com/282887594

Just like last year, all the dishes will take part in the cooking contest. The best chefs of the community, voted by all the people at the picnic, will share their recipe and their story at the end of the event.

A novelty this year are the ladies from the sewing club. With the occasion of the IA Day (the traditional Romanian blouse), they will display their hand-made IA, and will offer workshops of simple traditional models. Even the inexperienced can participate and can make their own small token.

Their guest, folk singer Maria de Bruijn Popescu, will perform at the event with songs from both the International and the Romanian folk repertoire.

Throughout the event, people can chill, play football, badminton or chat in the shadow of the large trees of the location at Blaarthemseweg 90.

Parking is free but places are rather limited. More can be found on the adjacent streets.

Cost of the event is 5€/p.
