It sounds a bit futuristic – 3D-printed food. But at the Karpendonkse Hoeve, this became a reality this week. And it prevents food wastage too.
In the Karpendonkse Plas’s star restaurant, new products are printed from the bread, fruit, and vegetables that sometimes remain. These products are dried, baked, and then served to guests.
So, food that would otherwise have been thrown away gets a second lease on life. The restaurant has an added attraction – seeing a 3D printer at work is always something special for many customers.
