The fire in a container last week has been found to be the cause of the death of a homeless man. That became apparent from the police investigation.

The 39-year-old man’s body was found behind a building container beside Achtseweg Zuid after a fire in the container was extinguished. The police do not yet know how the fire started. The investigation team is still working on the case.

A 35-year-old man from Eindhoven has already been arrested in connection with the case. He became a suspect after a fire was started on Kennedyplein, right after the fire at the container. The second fire was reported last Thursday night.

Two NS security staff had spotted someone lighting a pile of garbage. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man who fitted the description reported to police. He is known to the police and is still in custody.
