VELDHOVEN – After Intel and TSMC now also Samsung will work closely together with the chip equipment manufacturer ASML from Veldhoven.
The South-Korean company contributes 276 million euros to research and development of new technologies. It also pays 503 million euros for a stake of 3 percent in ASML. ASML has announced that on Monday. The deal with Samsung is part of a partner programme that the company has set up to allow customers to pay a share of the expensive research into new technologies, with which even smaller and more efficient computer chips can be made??. That program, worth 1.38 billion euros, has now been finished, said ASML. Source: Eindhoven Dichtbij
