Mountain bikers taking part in the Duchenne Heroes challenge, managed to collect over one million euros for the charity. The cycling tour ended this weekend at the Karpendonkse Plas in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
It was the twelfth edition of this event. This time, hundreds of mountain bikers cycled from southern Germany to Eindhoven. Duchenne Heroes raises money for research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a severe type of hereditary muscular disease.
A week ago, over 330 participating mountain bikers started in the Saarland, Germany. The finish at the Karpendonkse Plas was transformed complete with honorary stage on which participants received a warm welcome.
People suffering from Duchenne were also at the finish to encourage participating cyclists.
