This Saturday, in the Eindhoven pop concert venue, a minute of silence will be held for the victims of the attack in Manchester.
Four cover bands will give a concert in the grand hall. They will perform a tribute to metal bands Metallica, AC / DC, Guns ‘n’ Roses and Iron Maiden. During the evening, bands and the audience will commemorate the victims of the attack in a Manchester venue last night.
Director Jos Feijen: “It’s horrible what happened. Pop concerts are just places of fraternity and tolerance”. The Effenaar will strengthen their security for now “We always take the necessary measures, such as security checks and camera surveillance. We will keep an extra eye on things again during concerts.”
De Effenaar follows a request from the Vereniging Nederlandse Poppodia and -Festivals (Union of Dutch Music Venues)(VNPF). Which calls out for pop concert venues to keep a minute of silence on Saturday. Other venues in the country will also heed that request.
