Problem-free morning for BRAVO buses

BRAVO’s new electric buses and timetable came through their baptism of fire on Monday morning with flying colours. Hermes director Juul van Hout is satisfied with how things went.

Yesterday, three electric buses came to a standstill because of empty batteries. According to Van Hout, that’s a very minor problem given the total number of journeys driven. In two cases, it concerned buses which came to a standstill after finishing their service, and in one case, passengers were able to transfer to another bus.

Van Hout acknowledges that dealing with the huge numbers of passengers during peak times is a challenge. “Due to the new NS railway timetable, thousands of people are wanting to take the bus at the same time, which takes a lot of organisation at Eindhoven Station.”

He carries on to say that passengers are enthusiastic about the new buses. Young people, in particular, are very happy with the USB ports available in all buses.

There are also compliments for the new, long-distance diesel buses. “We’re talking coach quality, with folding tables, USB chargers, Wi-Fi …… commuters can just keep working on the bus.”
