P&R Genneper Parken to get 600 parking spots

A four-storey car park with space for 600 cars. This is how big the new P&R Genneper Parken will be, Eindhoven Municipality writes.

The parking garage is to be built on RPC football club’s current main field. In 2020, the much talked about P&R should be ready. From then on, paid parking will be introduced for the rest of Genneper Parken.

According to the Eindhovens Dagblad, (Eindhoven Daily Newspaper) athletes are only charged after five hours, while non-athletes must pay from minute one. It is not clear how the distinction is made.

Oranje-Rood

On weekends when Oranje-Rood is playing hockey, the parking garage will be used by the club’s athletes and supporters. The current car park at the hockey club on Charles Roelslaan will no longer be in use. On this kind of sporting weekend, there will still be room for between 150 and 200 cars.

Cost

The cost is going to be high: over EUR20 million. The expenses will be paid mainly with an HOV (High-quality Public Transport) subsidy from the province of Noord Brabant. This grant is good for EUR14 million. The remainder will be covered by parking revenues and rent of the grounds by the GGD (Public Health Service) who park their ambulances there.

RPC and Tivoli

The RPC will move to De Heihoef Sportpark. This venue is home to the Tivoli football club. Here, there are two new artificial turf fields as well as three natural grass pitches. Everything is under lights. The RPC will also get a new canteen and six dressing rooms at this sports park.
