The start of the next phase of the redevelopment of Vestdijk should not cause much inconvenience to motorists.
During the beginning of the redesign of Vestdijk, there was a lot of traffic problems. Motorists and cyclists were completely lost about where to drive. This time around, there seems to be less confusion and inconvenience than expected. The stretch of road between Oude Stadsgracht and Dommel is closed to traffic until December. Yellow signs indicate the detours on the area.
The inner city and the Heuvel car park remain accessible via Kanaaldijk-Zuid and Kanaalstraat and from the station via Vestdijk. From the end of November/beginning of December, traffic can also leave the city via Breitnerstraat, Lucas Gasselstraat, and Dirk Boutslaan. This is according to the Municipality. Vestdijk is closed in one direction between Geldropseweg and Bleekstraat.
