The Nuenen City Council is to lend financial aid to the Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven. This was reported in the Eindhovens Dagblad. (ED)
This municipality is prepared to contribute towards filling the hole in the Muziekgebouw’s budget. This venue has been struggling with a structural deficit of at least EUR500,000 for years now. The local VVV branch of the Neunun Municipality took the lead in this initiative. The Neunen City Council unanimously adopted their motion. It called for financial aid for the Muziekgebouw.
How much this aid will be is not known. It is also still unclear whether it will be a once-off amount or a yearly contribution to the venue’s budget. The ED also reported that there is a possibility that more municipalities in the region might adopt similar motions.
