“.. you took a whole lot of lovin .. for a handful of nothin”..

80’s legend Alison Moyet, on “The Other Tour” at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, 25 January 2019.

This was an epic performance by 3 times BRIT Award winner and Grammy nominee. Belting out hits from past and present, in her unique husky soul voice. She mesmerized us for almost 2 hours with her stage presence and talented backing musicians. The evening had a very nostalgic mood with well-choreographed psychedelic lighting to complete the ambience!

Alison started slow with songs from her latest album, sharing her love for her mum with “The English U”. Switching over to her chart-toppers like “Nobody’s Diary”, “All cried out” and “Don’t go” got the crowds jumping to their feet, singing along and cheering enthusiastically.

Yes, the crowd coerced her back to stage for an encore for 2 more songs, which she obliged with huge smiles.

It was a great evening and a personal privilege to see Alison again, as I had been to her performance in 1983 .. that was 35 years ago. It was a time warp, going back into the days of techno-pop and lyrics we can actually remember for years to come. Perhaps the only difference would be the jammed-packed hall with a thousand students, dancing in chaos till early hours. Wow how quickly time flew past!

Alison still has a rock-solid voice and deserves our continued admiration with respect. I am proud to have an autographed CD and wish to thank Muziekgebouw Eindhoven for hosting Alison.

Looking forward to more amazing legends ..
