Demolition started to make way for new residential area

Yesterday, the demolition of a building which once housed the van der Puttlyceum started. The building is located along the van Vorststraat in Eindhoven. Later this year, the construction of a new residential area starts on this site.

Before demolition started, a number of works of art were taken from the old school building. These will be housed elsewhere. The building used to house a secondary school. The building was also temporarily used by the Summa College.

The building project “De vijf van Vorst” consists of 160 owner-occupied, as well as rental homes. All houses have already been sold. The complete site covers three hectares in Woensel-Zuid.

All new homes will be sustainably heated. Natural gas will also not be available, according to project developers CRA Vastgoed and Wilma Wonen. Construction of the new homes will start later this year. The new neighbourhood should be completed around the summer of next year.
