On Thursday, war veteran Joe Cattini celebrated his birthday.
Cattini is one of the last few liberators of Eindhoven still living. He is now 96 years old. On Thursday he was surprised by Stichting 18 September, who sent a stack of birthday cards to England for him.
A special video was made for the veteran where, among others, Eindhoven’s Mayor, John Jorritsma, told Joe, “You are our hero”. Cattini was visibly delighted with the birthday cards.
