The stores in the Eindhoven city center may open earlier every Sunday around the holidays.
From eight o’clock in the morning, the stores may already be open, normally only from noon. It applies to all Sundays in December.
The request for extended opening hours would come from different supermarket organizations. The umbrella organization, Federation of Entrepreneurs’ Organizations in the Eindhoven retail trade (FOE), subsequently requested that the exemption be applied to all stores.
