Last week, light art festival Glow attracted a record number of visitors again. About 750,000 people visited Eindhoven city centre to enjoy the festival. The number of visitors increased by about 10,000 compared to last year.
The project on the Lichttoren especially drew many positive reactions. Another favourite was the project at the Catharinakerk. Younger visitors preferred the show at the Philips Stadium, according to the GLOW-organization.
“This year, we also kept track of how much was posted about Glow on social media. On Instagram, the hashtag #gloweindhovenwas used almost 19,000 times for a photo. New this year was a photo contest. It was held on Instagram, under the hashtag #blueglow18. We searched for the most beautiful photo of the project ‘Something Blue’, which turned the sky above Eindhoven blue. This blue sky could actually be spotted beyond the border.”
Glow 2018 closed with the Glow Run. Participants ran a last lap along the route. After the last runner had completed the lap, the lights were literally switched off.
The next edition of Glow will be held from 9 to 16 November 2019.
