Motorcyclist Herlings wins world title at Assen

Motorcyclist Jeffrey Herlings from Geldrop-Mierlo won the world title in the MXGP, Sunday afternoon.

He won the title at the motor-cycle circuit at Assen. Herlings is the first Dutchman to win this title in the MXGP class.

The 24-year-old Herlings crossed the finish line brilliantly, in the ‘Formula 1 of motorcycling’. Tens of thousands of supporters rewarded him with an ovation.

Last year Herlings struggled with an annoying hand injury. This injury seems to be a thing of the past. Last year’s world champion Antonio Cairoli finished second.
