An Eindhoven postman was robbed of his bicycle. A thief roughly pulled him off his bike and made off with it.
Sonny van den Bosch, a 25-year-old postman, was interviewed by Eindhovens Dagblad. Mr. van den Bosch delivers post in his neighbourhood. Saturday, while on his route and cycling along the Brussellaan on his brand new bike, he was pulled hard to the ground by a hand on his shoulder. Though it took him only a few seconds to get up, he was too late and saw a man cycle away on his bike.
Bicycle gift from parents
The postman gave chase. For it was a new bike and given by his parents. However, the thief screamed at the rightful owner: “Stop chasing, otherwise you’ll have an even bigger problem”, so Mr. van den Bosch gave up the chase.
Mail delivery
Police was alerted. They later recovered the mail neatly stacked. The mail had been stashed in the two heavy mailbags of the bike.
When Mr. van den Bosch informed his parents he had been pulled off his bike and the bike stolen, there was some good news. The new bike was insured. Once the insurance company has settled the claim, a new bike can be purchased. Until then, this Eindhoven postman delivers mail using a spare bike.
Of course, mail was not delivered Saturday, but will be delivered as Monday, Mr. van den Bosch told Eindhovens Dagblad.
