Visiting the GP in a bus? With a van manufactured by VDL, this is now possible in the German rural areas.
The Eindhoven company, VDL, has delivered the bus to the German carrier, Deutsche Bahn Regio Bus and has been in use since this week.
The vehicle is equipped with all the items that can be expected in a GP practice. There is a treatment room with medical equipment, a consultation room, a small laboratory, and a waiting room.
The medi-bus is used four days a week as a mobile general practice in six villages in the central German state of Hesse. There is a shortage of doctors in these places.
