At the Schellens Factory in Eindhoven, a benefit evening is to be held for Syrian war children on Friday, 6 July.
It is an initiative of the Eindhoven-Kobane Working Group, the Vredesburo (the Peace Office), and Kleurrijke Stad (Colourful City). Eyewitnesses of the war will tell their stories, and there is music. In addition, visitors are asked to make a donation.
The city that is central to this evening is the North Syrian Kobane. The city has largely been destroyed and is currently being rebuilt. Thousands of inhabitants were killed or injured. Many children were victims. With the charity effort, the promoters are trying to raise funds for teaching materials for a school in Kobane.
