Coolblue is going to deliver orders by bicycle with its CoolblueFietst (CoolblueCycles)’. First in Eindhoven and The Hague, then in the other large Dutch cities.
This makes Coolblue the first webshop in Europe to deliver orders by bicycle. They will deliver small items such as laptops, mobile phones, or headphones. Refrigerators and washing machines will still be delivered by trucks.
Environmentally friendly
In the promotional clip for the CoolblueFietst, Pieter Zwart, the mastermind behind the idea, calls it the most package-friendly delivery service in the Netherlands. There is no need to wait at home all day for a package, as it is delivered within an hour. It is also environmentally friendly.
