VDMA site up for sale

Eindhoven municipality starts a sale and redevelopment process for the Van der Meulen-Ansems site (VDMA).

The site must change into a vibrant area. Project developers can hand in plans to Eindhoven municipality.

Offer

From 20 February, buyers and developers can register their plans. They are encouraged to cooperate with smaller parties. Therefore, an ‘online shop window’ exists, during which smaller parties or residents can present their ideas or plans. In this way, candidates can contact each other and network.

Selection

The aim is to turn the VDMA site into a place for start-ups as well as homes. Eindhoven residents with large as well as small incomes should be able to work, live and relax here. For this reason, the municipality will pay attention to sustainability, inclusiveness (minimum 15% social housing) and the height of a bid.

Neighbourhood

People living in neighbouring areas will also be given an opportunity to have a say. A committee of community representatives will be established to advise on the choice of plan.

Until 17 May, buyers and developers can register. The council will decide who can buy and redevelop the site, at the beginning of 2019.
