Five students of SintLucas in Eindhoven are selling mismatching socks.
It is their intention to collect money for Serious Request in a playful manner. The socks are also intended to bring people together. When people buy a mismatching pair they can search for the matching sock via social media with the hashtag #sokyourtwin
This year, bringing people together is also Serious Request’s goal. In cooperation with the Red Cross, they collect money to reunite children with their parents. Worldwide more than 4 million people have lost each other through conflict or disaster. The proceeds will be used by the Red Cross to track missing children and bring them home.
The prints on the socks are designed by the students themselves. There are four different designs. ‘People at school bought them too, and it is great to see people walking with a matching pair’, tells Sterre van der Kunder, one of the students behind the socks. ‘They already found their sock match’.
A pair of socks costs € 7.50. They are for sale at Sint Lucas and can also be ordered.
