Exhibition about the elderly who were forced to stay together for two months

‘Renovation, from the Art’, is the latest exhibition that can be seen in the Temporary Art Center (TAC) in Eindhoven.

Last summer a refurbishment took place at Stadsverspleeghuis (city nursing home) Vitalis Vonderhof. In order to not let the residents move temporarily, they stayed together for two months.

In those months, photographer Hildegard Hick followed them to capture the vulnerability and emotion of moments. According to her, it was a sometimes difficult situation for the then vulnerable inhabitants. “They were literally dependent on each other.”

The exhibition consists of a mixture of photographs and film. The TAC holds the exhibition until Friday 22 December.
