On Thursday, a hedge growing next to a house on Bogardeind in Geldrop, burnt down. The fire brigade responded in time to put out the fire.
The flames coming from the confers rose high above the house itself. Neighbours thought a dog was inside the house, and forced entry by smashing a window. It is not clear if a dog was actually present or not.
Nobody was injured. How the fire started is not yet clear. The fire brigade used an aerial work platform to hose the gardens ajoining the house because burning debris fell in to these gardens.
