Near the Stratumseind, a man was arrested on Saturday night because he behaved aggressively and insulted the police. He and his wife were first fined for illegal parking and then the man insulted the police agents. He said, “Erdogan is right, you are Nazis and relics of fascists.”
The police saw the car parked in a pedestrian area, without occupants or people nearby. Just when the owners (husband and wife) came back to the car, the police agents were writing a ticket.
The woman asked if they were getting a ticket and the man immediately became aggressive. He screamed that the agents should not behave so pathetically and that they should go and catch criminals. In addition, he had a threatening attitude. Also, the agents were “not worthy of their uniform” and persons who only punish good citizens.
The police agents hoped to prevent escalation by explaining to them that they could appeal the fine. They let the two walk after writing the ticket. The man was arrested some time later by other agents who gave him an extra fine of 400 euros for the insulting.
