No compensation for noise pollution Eindhoven Airport

A judge has ruled that a Veldhoven resident will not be compensated for noise pollution stemming from nearby Eindhoven Airport.

According to the resident, the value of his house has decreased because of an increased number of flights and broader flight times.

His request for compensation was rejected in 2015 by the Minister of Infrastructure and Environment and the Secretary of State, on the advice of an independent commission.

The decision said the resident should have taken the increased number of flights into account when purchasing his home. In addition, noise pollution has not exceeded maximum levels since the increase.

It is not clear whether the resident will appeal.
