Eindhoven Technical University has topped a list when it comes to co-operation with innovative companies. The TU has co-authored the most scientific articles written with these companies.
The list was compiled by “Times Higher Education”. It investigated which universities collaborated on articles with the top 100 most innovative companies and organisations. The TU/e tops the list with 1316 articles which it co-authored. That is almost a quarter more than Harvard University, which is in second place.
TU’s ranking is explained not only by the quality of its work, but also its location: Times Higher Education noticed that companies often collaborated with universities in their vicinity. Thus Sony in Tokyo collaborated with the University of Tokyo; Dow CHemical is in Michigan and works with the University of Michigan and the TU/e with, amongst others, Phillips.
