Fathers are moving to Archipel-towers in Gestel in April

The fathers ‘Augustijnen’ in Eindhoven are moving to the new residence of health facility Archipel in the quarter of Gestel in April.

The seventeen fathers and two nuns are still living at the monumental complex Mariënhage, at Kerkstraat in Eindhoven. They have been accommodated there for 12 years. The monastery of the Augustines there, will be taken over together with the Paterskerk (Fathers’ Church) and the former Augustinianum by undertaker DELA. They will transform it into a conference hotel, brasserie and ceremony house, where one can marry and mourn.

The construction of the new two towers of Archipel in Gestel is in progress. As soon as the buildings are being delivered in spring, the fathers will be moving in there. They will be living at the first floor of one of the buildings in about twenty apartments. There will be a chapel, dining room and recreation room next to it.

Mariënhage is the oldest building in Eindhoven, the facade reads 1628 but the first foundation is from a castle built in 1422.
