Last Saturday and Sunday, the VDMA building at Vestdijk Eindhoven, saw a burst of creativity showcased by 120 makers at the third Mini Maker Faire Eindhoven.
Inventiveness galore in robotics, art, nature, electronics ánd fashion. The faire saw around 2500 visitors last weekend, 500 more than last year. But according René Paré (initiator) still a way to go to equal New York’s Faire with 100.000 visitors.
Mainly families enjoyed the exposition where interactivity was high on the agenda. Touching, trying, guessing, experimenting, being a part of the installation, that was the aspiration of the organisers.
It was a gathering of fascinated and curious people, the makers as well as the public. “Now it is waiting for the government and companies”, said Gerard Jacobs (co-organiser). “With sustainability as an important part of the movement, they should be more committed to this phenomena of invention, creativity and resourcefulness.”
