NXP Eindhoven has sold its Standard Product Business to two Chinese investors, Jianguang Asset Management and Wise Road Capital, for $2.75 billion. The division makes semiconductor components for the Automotive, Industrial, Computing, Consumer and Wearable markets.
This division has a turnover of $1.2 billion. It is expected that in mid-2017 the deal can be finalized. The division continues under the name of Nexperia and will be an independent company, with headquarters in Nijmegen. All 11.000 employees will be transferred to the new company, according to their press release.
NXP Semiconductors is the world leader in secure connectivity solutions for embedded applications. The company has 45.000 employees in more than 35 countries, with revenue of $6.1 billion in 2015. NXP wants to focus on the development and production of the more complex High-Performance Mixed Signal business.
