The proverbial first stake has been driven into the ground, signalling the start of construction of a new bus station at WoensXL shopping centre on Montgomerylaan. It is to be a new hub for bus passengers, to save them having to travel all the way to Neckerspoel to change buses.
The bus station is a part of the HOV (high-quality public transport line) being built. But other city and regional buses will also stop there.
That should improve the connections between Woensel and other districts of the city, and people from villages to the north of the city will also be benefited by it.
