German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit Eindhoven’s High Tech Campus and Veldhoven chip manufacturer ASML on April 21st, according to an official program released by the Rijksvoorlichtingdienst (government information service) today.
Earlier this month Studio040 reported that the Chancellor would visit the Brainport region. The program published today revealed that she will also visit chip manufacturer ASML in Veldhoven.
Merkel’s visit is part of major government talks between Germany and the Netherlands. The Chancellor, joined by the German ministers for Education, Foreign Affairs, and Economic Affairs, will meet Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Eindhoven mayor Rob van Gijzel for a business lunch at the HTC.
Germany and the Netherlands are two of Europe’s most innovative countries. Mutual trade in 2015 accounted for up to €168 billion.
