PSV has punished season ticket holders who sold their tickets for PSV – Atletico Madrid. They will not be welcome at the stadium during upcoming home matches of the club. A total of 50 season ticket holders have been denied entry, according to the ED newspaper.
The tickets for the Champions League match of PSV were for sale on various sites at much higher price than the original ticket price. It was not unusual for tickets to be sold for a couple of hundred euros per ticket in the last days before the match.
In some cases it was extremely easy to track the season ticket holder, as they used their own name. Other tickets were sold under an e-mail address not known to the club. Purchasers of the tickets were asked to identify the seller at the gate. It is still unknown when the season ticket holders will be welcome again.
