At the hospitals in Eindhoven and Geldrop fifteen people so far have been brought in after consuming excessive alcohol or drugs. Three of them are minors.
At the Catharina hospital in Eindhoven there were seven cases of alcohol intoxication and two of excessive drugs use. Saturday was the day with most cases. The Sint-Anna hospital in Geldrop reported six cases of alcohol intoxication this weekend. In many cases the patients were wounded due to falling down.
Last year over twenty people were brought into the Catharina hospital during Carnaval. Maxima Medisch Centrum does not yet have numbers available concerning last weekend.
