Two dogs deceased – possibly due to poisoning

Two dogs died in Eindhoven, possibly due to poisoning. Five additional dogs became ill.

This information comes from a spokesperson of the Eindhoven municipality, in a reaction to questions raised by Studio040. The district police officer, as well as the Animal Protection Police Department are aware of the situation.

The municipality has organised extra surveillance; special attention will focus on people behaving suspiciously in the park. Furthermore, extra attention will be given to (dog) food or meat/ sausages being found in the bushes or on the grass.
Dog owners should keep their dogs on a short leash while walking them. The problem has been discovered in the area of Philips van Lenneppark and in the Jacob Oppenheimpark. According to the municipality spokesperson, the problem is now to be found also in Meerhoven.

Residents of Geldrop-Mierlo were confronted with a similar situation, last year, whereby a number of dogs were poisoned. At that time, two dogs, belonging to one family, died as a result of poisoning.
