2014 was a stable and good year for the Eindhoven VDL Groep. The financial figures were excellent each quarter, making 2014 a record year in all respects.
The start of MINI production for BMW at VDL Nedcar in Born naturally had a positive impact, but – even without considering this contribution – VDL Groep enjoyed a year of growth. Both turnover and profit figures rose and the net result was €104.2 m, a 16% increase as compared to 2013.
Furthermore, the number of buses sold in 2014 was 42% higher than in 2013. The number of employees also rose, from 9,216 at the end of 2013 to 10,303 at the end of 2014 (of which 81% are employed in the Netherlands).
Since 2014 was in many ways a stable year, this provides a good position for further growth in 2015. VDL Groep has positive expectations for 2015.
