The TU/e’s Tech United team have left early this morning for Brazil to join the Robot World Cup beginning next Monday.
The Eindhoven team would like to reclaim their champion’s title that they won in 2012 at the World Cup. Last year, they lost to the Chinese team on home terrain.
They should be able to accomplish this due to the fact that the robot soccer players have been improved since last year. They now have more grip, they can dribble better and they can be coached from the side-lines, through QR codes that can be scanned.
The robots themselves arrived in Brazil two weeks ago. The Robocup finals will take place next week Thursday.
