This week Mayor Van Gijzel decided that the opening hours of catering establishments at Strijp-S will be extended for a longer period of time
From June 2012 an experiment has been conducted in order to see if opening hours could be extended. Normally, restaurants and pubs at Strijp-S close at two o’clock at night.
During the trial period, they were allowed to be open until four o’clock. So the experiment is prolonged and the Council will decide whether these closing hours are going to be final after the summer holidays.
According to the police, there have been no major incidents during the trial period. Therefore, they are positive about prolonging it.
