Philips develops new treatment for stroke recovery

Philips Healthcare has developed a new treatment for people who are recovering from a stroke. In four special rooms in a Belgian hospital, the patient’s recovery is being influenced by a mix of special lighting, picture and sound.

According to Philips these environmental conditions will help the recovery. The manufacturer states that existing hospital rooms have too little stimuli, because the patient resides in an artificial space.

The first four rooms are at the GZA Hospital in Antwerp.
