Microprocessor machine manufacturer ASML has achieved a significantly higher turnover and profit in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period last year. This is what the company announced Wednesdaymorning.
The turnover increased with more than 50 percent, to 1.4 billion euros. And the profit was even one and a half times as high as last year: 249 million.
Yet ASML also thinks the second quarter of this year will not be closed as good. The microprocessor machine manufacturer thinks their customers will be a little more cautious and this will decrease the turnover of this quarter.
This also has its impact on the results of the entire first half year. ASML thinks the turnover will turn out to be lower than initially thought: around three billion euros. That is 100 million less than expected.
