Good year for ASML

2013 was quite a good year for ASML. In the past year the Veldhoven chip machine manufacturer had a turnover of over 5.2 billion euros, half a billion more than the year before.

The annual profit decreased slightly to just over one billion euros.

The figures of the last quarter of 2013 were especially good, with a turnover of over 1.8 billion euros. These results are due to an increasing demand for new technology, particularly machines for memory chips and chips for cell phones and PCs.

According to CEO Wennink, the first half of this year looks promising. During the first six months he expects sales of 3 billion euros.
