A cyclist was seriously injured last night in an accident on the ‘Noord-Brabantlaan’. The man was hit by a car at the junction with ‘Welschapsedijk’. The motorist drove on after the collision.
A trauma helicopter was dispatched to the accident scene. The cyclist has multiple fractures and severe brain injury. The victim was taken to the hospital in Tilburg.
The responding police chased the car and shortly thereafter were able to apprehend two people. It involves two men ages 38 and 47, from Veldhoven.
The 38-year-old was found to have been drunk. He had a breath analyser figure of 1.55. The two suspects are detained for further investigation.
