On Friday 21 June, Eindhoven Airport’s renewed terminal and the new Tulip Inn hotel will be officially opened.
The redeveloped departure terminal has doubled in size. With this new extension, the airport hopes to provide enough space for passenger development up to 2020.It will be officially opened by Wilma Mansveld, State Secretary for Infrastructure and the Environment. The ‘old’ terminal was built in 2005, but the terminal’s redevelopment and extension already started in 2011. With the arrival of several airlines to Eindhoven, the number of passengers increased exponentially over the past years. The airport is of great importance to the area’s further development. The new hotel was built on top of the terminal and offers 120 rooms. Its façade displays an airplane pattern composed of some 50,000 modern airplanes.
