EINDHOVEN – The number of girls registered as students at the Technical University of Eindhoven (typically a male dominated location) has risen by 50% this academic year.
One in four of the new students this year are girls. That figure was one in six last year and this is precisely what the TU/e is aiming for. In total, they have registered 14% more students than the same time last year. The university chancellor, Professor Hans van Duijn, disclosed these figures at the TU/e during the official opening of the academic year. The figures represent the total of registrations up until Friday 31st of August. There are 1308 first year students (1152 last year), with 304 girls (198 last year) and 1004 boys (954 last year).Source: Eindhoven Dichtbij
