EINDHOVEN – The Design Academy Eindhoven has settled down again now that the management has reallocated the various tasks.
A crisis developed before the summer break when three of the senior teaching staff resigned because they did not agree with the policy. They thought there was not enough attention for the artistic side of the course. That has been solved by redistributing the portfolio of the three members of the management team. Annemieke Eggenkamp, who received a lot of criticism because of her decisions, will now concentrate on the artistic elements of the course. She is no longer in charge of education innovation, that is now in the portfolio of newcomer Tom Wagemakers. Igor van Hooff will take on production. Agreement between the teaching staff, the board and management was reached yesterday. Eggenkamp was not present according to van Hoof because of her holiday, however she joined via telco.
