Brabantse Police at commemoration in Lommel

Tuesday, 20 March 2012
LOMMEL – Last Wednesday, sixteen police officers from Brabant joined the Lommel police force in the funeral service held for the victims of the Swiss bus accident.

Thousands of people attended the simple, but emotional ceremony, and the police officers was on the alert for people who wanted to disrupt the ceremony. This is a precaution to riots like the anti-abortion activists who have disrupted several meetings recently. 28 children died last week from an accident which took place in a tunnel in Switzerland. Six were from the Netherlands. Among the deceased, there was a girl from Bergeijk. Her funeral will take place on Thursday in her village.Source: Omroep Brabant
